More About Us

We save youth ministry leaders time & money by creating year long curriculum, bundles, teaching & small group curriculum & game packs.

I’m Nick, the founder of Ministry to Youth. I have worked with kids and youth as a church leader for more than 20 years. I live in San Diego with my lovely wife, Jena Diliberto. We have three grown kids: Ethan, Joey & Emma.

I am passionate about equipping church leaders to do ministry! It’s what I do full time, and it’s endlessly fun and satisfying.

Saving youth ministry leaders time and money is a personal thing for me. Here’s why:

Back in the early days of ministry, I was young and single. I spent just about all my time doing ministry-related stuff: planning events, building relationships with students, coordinating weekend services, recruiting and training volunteers…you name it. I had a passion for pointing students to Jesus and being a part of what God was doing in their lives.

I also attended seminary full-time.

Eventually, I graduated from seminary, fell in love, married, and had three kids.

Juggling the needs of a young family with ministry was difficult. After struggling for years to balance the two, I decided to take a hiatus from full-time ministry, transitioning to a non-ministry job.

I was nearly burned out, and the experience had taken a toll on my family as well. I hesitated to return to full-time ministry.

God was faithful. He wasn’t done with me yet. I spent a year and a half growing, learning, healing, and developing a healthy work/life balance. That balance has served me ever since.

I was ready to go back into full-time ministry. So, I went for it. And I found the balance I’d been seeking.

Looking back, I see that it wasn’t necessary for me to learn the hard way, to put my family life at risk, to nearly burn out. It shouldn’t be necessary for anyone. In the worst case, that path can lead to complete burnout and permanent departure from ministry. But even in the best case, you’ll never be as effective in ministry as you could be if you’d only have the discipline and foresight to maintain balance. Not to mention all the anxiety and stress.

So, when we launched Ministry to Youth in 2014, I knew in my heart and soul that helping youth ministers save time wasn’t merely a service of convenience. It could make all the difference.

And, of course, helping them to save money would only help.

Our audience has grown tremendously. Our website now reaches over 100,000 people per month. We send out weekly messages to over 120,000 youth/kid’s leaders. Our Facebook page has over 30,000 followers. We’re humbled and excited to help so many youth and children’s ministry leaders save time and money.

Nick Diliberto, Founder of Ministry to Youth

I was asked by 3 teachers to cover for their classes in the same day. I home school 3 children and they are used to my “tricks”. Finding this site was a God send! I am SO looking forward to springing these wonderful ideas on the kids! I burst out laughing when I read one of them (Noodle Jousting). That alone has their curiosity piqued. I thank God for folks like you who, are not only passionate about training up a child in the way he should go, but are also willing to share it with others. May God bless and multiply.

I’ll be honest, usually when I am surfin’ the web for good devotionals and games for my youth group, I’m left feeling hopeless knowing that everything I find isn’t relevant enough or engaging enough for my youth. BUT THIS SITE IS AWESOME. You guys do a phenomenal job of connecting scripture to relevant topics for youth to connect to and apply to their own stories. And for free?! What a blessing! Keep doing what you’re doing!!
Thanks so much and God bless.
    Peace,
    Heidi

Hey Nick, I hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving this year!

I appreciate everything you do for this website. It is already helped me tremendously in my ministry as a youth pastor.

The big things in my ministry that I want to focus on his mission work. I was wondering if you knew of a good website that had testimonies of Christians all around the world who have little to nothing but continue to show praise and worship to God. I’m wanting to show clips and testimonies as part of my gratitude lessons for the next couple weeks To hopefully inspire my youth to have that debacle attitude such as Joseph, Job, and Paul.

    Thanks for your time,
    Kent Kirby

I really like what you are doing here. I am interested in knowing if you have anything developing for youth AND parent study/activities together. I am sensing that “family fun night” is more common among “Gen Z”, and hanging with family, than the trend to merely have “youth group”. Also, communication between Adult/Teen in these activities can be really hellpful, I feel. Please let me know if you have – or if you can guide me where to look. God’s Blessings to you!

      • October 15, 2017

Hi Jill! The props can really be anything that you can find lying around the church or place that you meet. After collecting the items, you would compose a list of words or phrases that the props can be used to demonstrate.

For example, if you had a light bulb and a hat, you could write down the phrase “put on your thinking cap”. The students would use the props, act out the phrase, and let the other students guess the phrase.

      I hope that helps!

I just want to say I appreciate your ministry. I want to ,take a minute to, tell you how much you help me. I am not a student pastor. I teach a bible study in a youth prison. Everything I do comes out of my own pocket. Therefore, to buy lessons all the time is not an option for me. As the years have past, I have had to come up with my own ideas. I babysit, also for free, and that takes up my day. I go to your site on those days that I am praying that God will help me have enough time to get my study together. Because of your ministry I am able to use some of your lessons as a foundation. What used to take me 4-6 hours of preparation. Now takes only an hour or two. I just want to say thank you.

This is so awesome. Thank you for your sermons for Youth. At this time our church weekly Sunday Scriptures are the same for both the children and Youth- each learning the same scriptures in Sunday School but the lessons within brought to their learning level. The goal being to spark conversations after church within families about what the Children & Youth learned that day. This has really unified the two ministries, however one of the main challenges so far has been finding lessons appropriate for each age group for those scriptures. I have yet to find a printed lesson plan or one online that has a unified scripture and lesson for both groups. Finding your website has been a huge help. I have been able to find many Youth lessons that have gone with the scriptures . Blessings
