WHY YOUTH SHOULD NOT READ THE BIBLE
Here are 4 reasons students in your ministry should NOT dive into the Bible:
1. “MY SPORT IS WAY MORE IMPORTANT”
My sports team demands my time, focus and energy. Although I say God is a priority in my life, I simply don’t have time to read the Bible or pray. I don’t even have time to show up to youth group a lot of the time.
2. “MY PHONE NEEDS MY ATTENTION MORE”
Why spend time in Scripture when I can scroll through 100 TikToks and learn zero life-changing truths? The Bible gives me wisdom and deepens my relationship with God, but, of course cat videos are super important too.
3. “I TOTALLY GOT MY LIFE FIGURED OUT ON MY OWN”
Who needs wisdom from the Creator of the universe when I can just Google or use ChatGPT for everything? The Bible is full of guidance for life, but hey, why take advice from the One who literally designed me?
4. “HOPE, PEACE AND JOY? NO THANKS!”
I know Bible fills me with encouragement, hope, peace and joy. But I prefer feeling anxious, discouraged, sad and overwhelmed.
Ha, ha, ha, ok I think you get the point!
