Here’s a really fun Children’s Ministry game: Glow Gauntlet!

Think of it as a mix between an obstacle course and a treasure hunt, only everything glows. Because of all the prep, this one works best at an event.

Glow Supplies:

  • Glow sticks (bracelets, necklaces, wands)
  • Glow balloons (put a glow stick inside before inflating)
  • Black lights (if possible)
  • Neon tape to mark “lanes” or safe zones on the floor
  • Optional: Small glow-in-the-dark toys

The Course: Create stations or obstacles around the room.

  • Crawl Tunnel: Tape together cardboard boxes and line them with glow sticks.
  • Glow Balloon Pit: A kiddie pool filled with balloons, some with glow sticks inside.
  • Ring Toss: Use glow necklaces to toss over 2-liter bottles wrapped in neon tape.
  • Treasure Hunt: Hide glow sticks or small glow-in-the-dark toys around the room.

How to Play:

  • Divide kids into teams.
  • Each team sends one player at a time through the “Glow Gauntlet.”
  • The goal is for each player to get one glow object at each station (crawl, toss, dig in balloons, etc.).
  • When they return, the next teammate goes.
  • The first team with all their players finished wins.

Twist Ideas:

  • Freeze Mode: Shine a flashlight at random. When it hits them, players must freeze until it moves away.
  • Glow Paint Finale: At the end, let kids swipe neon face paint on their cheeks just for fun.

Read John 8:12: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Say: Just like the glow sticks lit up your path in the game, Jesus lights up our lives. When we follow Him, we don’t stumble around in the dark. He shows us the way.

(End Lesson.)
