Fall is here and what’s more fun in our children’s ministry than a one minute apple challenge? Because nothing says fall quite like apples (well, maybe pumpkin spice).

ONE MINUTE KIDMIN CHALLENGE: APPLE PIE FACE-PLANT

Supplies:

  • Aluminum pie tins (1 per child or per round)
  • Whipped cream (lots of it!)
  • Apple slices (hide 3–4 inside each tin)
  • Towels for cleanup

Instructions:

  1. Have a few kids come up front to compete.
  2. Fill each pie tin with whipped cream and bury apple slices inside.
  3. Players get one minute to find and pull out as many apple pieces as possible using only their mouth. (Have them keep their hands behind their back!)
  4. Players have one minute and whoever gets the most (or all of them) the quickest is the winner!
  5. Everyone else cheers them on.

Read Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV): “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Say: Just like you had to really dig into the whipped cream to find those apple pieces, when we seek (or search for) God with everything we’ve got, we will always find Him!

(End Lesson.)
