Firework Slime is a super fun, sparkly craft that kids love – and it’s a hit for your Children’s Ministry around Fourth of July. It’s gooey, glittery, and great for talking about how God’s love is explosively awesome!

FIREWORK SLIME RECIPE

Tips:

  • Try making the slime ahead of time to get familiar with the process and make any tweaks that work best for your space and group.
  • Baby wipes are great to have on hand to make the clean up easier.

Supplies:

  • 1 bottle of clear Elmer’s glue (6 oz)
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1½ tbsp contact lens solution (must contain boric acid)
  • Red, silver, and blue glitter
  • Optional: Star-shaped confetti or food coloring
  • Optional: Baby wipes (for cleaning hands)

Instructions:

  1. Pour the glue into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the baking soda and stir.
  3. Mix in your glitter and/or confetti to make it sparkle like fireworks.
  4. Add the contact solution and stir until it starts to come together.
  5. Knead the slime with your hands – it should become less sticky the more you knead.
  6. Store in zip-top bags or small containers for kids to take home.

Enjoy the game!
