After 8 years of living in the New Orleans area, our family has decided to move back to San Diego.

We’re happy, sad, anxious, and a host of other emotions about the move. But ultimately, we feel like it’s the best thing for our family. We lived in San Diego from 2009-2012, and although I’m from New Orleans we have seriously consider moving back 4-5 times. Well, it’s go time now.

In fact, 2 of the 5 of us (Joey & I) are now on day 2 of the journey…in San Antonio. We’re driving the Uhaul a total of 1,900 miles to the west coast, and it’s going to be a loooooong drive! But hey, this is what we have to look forward to…

I took that pic in La Jolla about 15 minutes from where we’ll soon live. Aaaahhhhhhh….we can’t wait 🙂

Throughout the process of moving, Jena and I have experienced a lot of fear. Will the kids be ok in a new city away from their friends and family? Will my parents be okay without the grandkids? The list goes on.

One thing I’m learning is that sometimes you just have to continue moving forward past the fear…into the unknown. Because that’s exactly where you’re supposed to be. Out of your comfort zone.

Fear is a very real thing. But when you keep going in the face of it…that’s when good stuff happens.

How are you being called into the scary unknown?
