WHY DEVELOP A ONE YEAR YOUTH MINISTRY STRATEGY?
As I type these words we are just over 5 weeks away from the beginning of 2021. This year has certainly been one for the history books, and I can hardly believe we’re about to enter a new year.
Thinking ahead to 2021…
Imagine how awesome it would be to plan out your youth ministry strategy one year in advance.
I’m talking about everything: teaching series, small groups, events, volunteer training, etc.
Most of us agree that it is a good idea, but few actually follow through.
I think the most common reason is that we’re too busy with the day-to-day responsibilities of youth ministry. We let the urgency of today get in the way.
The truth is that now is the time to plan ahead for next year.
Here are some reasons WHY it’s important to develop a 1 year youth ministry strategy:
So you have a back up plan in case COVID restrictions change your original game plan.
You’re confident & organized because you are well prepared for youth group a year advanced. No more winging it week-to-week or month-to-month.
You’re focused because you know how each lesson, event, program etc. fits into the big picture of your youth ministry’s vision.
You’re more creative because you already spent the time & energy to plan everything a year in advance. You have more space to innovate, try new things, and be creative.
You have a solid plan to help students who don’t know Jesus to come into a relationship with Him, and intentionally disciple students who do follow Jesus.
You have a well thought out game plan for students to create and nurture God-centered relationships with one another.
These are just some of the benefits of developing a 1 year youth ministry strategy.
You might be overwhelmed at the idea of doing such a big task, or you may need some help and guidance. Those are valid concerns.
In order to help, I am doing a free live online training on Thursday, December 3 on…
